Youth Pastor/Worship Leader
at Lakewood United Methodist Church (Anywhere)
Objectives:
To create and grow a Bible based youth ministry that includes spiritual formation, mentoring, developing peer relationships, and active outreach in the community. This ministry must work in harmony with existing church programs, goals and staff.
Typical examples of Work Performed:
Lead regular meetings with youth, plan and lead youth activities, enlist and equip volunteers to assist in youth ministry, mentor youth in their spiritual growth, attend worship services regularly, attend staff meetings regularly, perform music and lead the praise band for Sunday contemporary service, organize fundraising programs to help support youth activities, assist with other duties in the church or elsewhere, as requested.
Education:
A colleg degree in Christian Ministry/Youth Ministry Work or equivalent experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
The ideal candidate will be proficient in musical ability;both with instrument and vocals. Experience with a praise team or band presenting comtemporary Christian music is highly desirable. They wil be a creative self-starter that will develop programs and activities to attract and retain youth in an environment where they may grow spiritually. They will be willing to work in harmony with existing church staff. The Youth Pastor/Worship Leader will be under the direction of the Senior Pastor and work in cooperation with the Assistant Pastor.
