Pastor of Student Ministries
at lifechurch in Detroit
lifechurch is about life change. We are a contemporary, culturally relevant, and fast growing church that is reaching people from all walks of life who are being transformed by Jesus Christ. We began 7 years ago with 25 people and today regularly worship with 900. Our vision is to be a community where real people can connect with God and experience real life. This was Jesus’ vision as well, when he said, “I have come that you might have life.” Our mission, based on the Great Commission, is to help people Know Jesus, Grow together in Him & Go serve the world. This forms the basis for everything we do.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assumes full responsibility for program and oversight of all major aspects of Student Ministries, i.e., evangelistic training, discipleship training, Sunday morning and mid-week meetings, camps, retreats, mission trips and special projects.
• Cast vision and set goals for healthy youth ministry in line with mission and vision of lifechurch. Implement structure and strategy to achieve these goals.
• Recruit, equip and train adults to adequately staff programming and ministries.
• Develop and implement strategies for helping Middle School and High School students at lifechurch enter into and Grow in a relationship with Jesus Christ while equipping them to Go and serve their church and community.
• Develop and implement a strategy for exposing Middle School and High School students in the greater Plymouth/Canton area to lifechurch and a relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Develop a partnership with parents to equip and assist them to better understand the needs of their Middle School and High School students. Provide resources and opportunities for families to Know the love of God together, Grow in their relationship with one another and with God, and Go to share His love as a family.
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:
• Has a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Committed to personal growth, servant leadership, personal mentorship and being one in the spirit with the leadership at lifechurch.
• Can demonstrate previous success and an ongoing ability in recruiting, training, and supporting coordinators, leaders and volunteers
• Can demonstrate previous success and an ongoing ability in developing and maintaining a growing student ministry
• Is excited by the opportunity of working in a church that is growing rapidly and desires to see that growth reflected in the student ministries program.
• College degree required
• Youth Ministries degree desired
• Three years experience in youth ministry
